Coinbase has launched its Embedded Wallets through the Coinbase Developer Platform, now available for general use. This new service enables developers to incorporate cryptocurrency functionalities into their applications without requiring users to manage seed phrases. The platform supports Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) chains, including Base and Ethereum, as well as Solana.
The Embedded Wallets offer authentication options via email, SMS, and social logins, and include smart-account features such as gas sponsorship and spend permissions. Developers can access a free tier that allows up to 5,000 wallet operations per month. Early adopters of this service include companies like Hydrex and Vibe.Market.
