Coinbase has announced its support for Sei's transition from a Cosmos-based trading platform to an EVM-only architecture. The migration is scheduled from April 6th to 8th, 2026, during which SEI deposits and withdrawals will be suspended. Users are advised not to deposit or transfer SEI during this period.
Post-migration, SEI tokens will be converted at a 1:1 ratio without fees, and users must use EVM-compatible addresses for transactions. Those wishing to avoid automatic conversion should transfer their SEI to a self-custodied wallet before April 6th. Coinbase will cease support for SEI deposits to bech32 addresses, requiring EVM-compatible wallets for future transactions.
