A crypto wallet linked to a notorious Coinbase hacker has purchased 3,976 Ether, valued at over $18.9 million, as ETH prices climbed above $4,700. The transaction, executed at $4,756 per token, was facilitated using 18.911 million DAI, according to Arkham Intelligence. This wallet, under scrutiny for its connection to a $300 million social engineering scam targeting Coinbase users, has been active in significant crypto trades, including recent acquisitions of Solana and Ether.
The latest purchase coincides with ETH reaching a local high of $4,763, marking its highest level in over two weeks. The hacker's wallet has been monitored by blockchain analysts since earlier this year, with onchain sleuth ZachXBT estimating the scam's total defrauded amount at over $330 million. This Ether accumulation follows previous substantial trades, including a $12.55 million ETH purchase in July.
