Coinbase Inc. has settled its patent dispute with DynaPass Inc., leading to the dismissal of its lawsuit against the software company. The conflict centered around allegations by DynaPass that Coinbase had infringed on a patent related to two-factor authentication. A notice of dismissal was filed on October 31 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, indicating that both parties reached an agreement.
As part of the settlement, DynaPass agreed not to pursue legal action against Coinbase, its clients, suppliers, partners, or members of the Crypto Open Patent Alliance. Previously, Coinbase had sought a court declaration in September to affirm that it had not violated DynaPass's U.S. Patent No. 6,993,658 and to challenge the patent's validity.
