Coinbase has integrated its x402 internet payment protocol with Concordium's identity and age verification system to facilitate AI-powered stablecoin payments. Announced on Tuesday, this collaboration aims to enable AI applications to transact for age-restricted goods and services, including travel bookings, online content, and gaming.
The x402 protocol, introduced in May, supports pay-per-use internet payments via HTTP, allowing direct payments through standard web requests without requiring login or complex verification. Concordium has also expanded its age verification tools through partnerships, including one with Bitcoin.com, to support stablecoin payment verification across 75 million wallets.
