These responses are not actual payments but signals to AI bots indicating a "pay to access" requirement, highlighting the growing demand for native payments from AI agents. In collaboration with Visa and Experian, Cloudflare has launched the "Agent Trust" framework. This initiative links AI agent behavior to verified real users through a "user-agent binding" mechanism, issuing real-time trust tokens to help merchants validate the legitimacy of agent transactions. Cohen also noted that over 50% of current internet traffic is non-human, driven by AI companies scraping and returning content at high ratios. A viable content monetization model could potentially lead to a "golden age of content."
