Anthropic's Claude announced a rebranding of its subscription tiers: the Max 5x plan is now simply "Max" ($100/month), while Max 20x becomes "Ultra" ($200/month). Existing subscribers require no action to transition. Effective immediately, Claude removed the 5-hour usage limit for verified Ultra accounts, covering most existing subscribers. Newer accounts will retain temporary limits until identity verification is completed to prevent fraud and abuse, with email notifications sent once restrictions are lifted. Weekly usage caps remain unchanged.
