Sunrise, a Chinese GPU chip startup, has successfully raised nearly 3 billion yuan ($470 million) in strategic financing. The funding round attracted a mix of industrial investors, including Huxu Fund under Sany Group, Fan Shi Intelligent, and GCL Technology, alongside venture capital and private equity firms such as IDG Capital and Gaorong Capital. State-backed entities like Chengtong Mixed-Ownership Reform Fund also participated. The capital will be directed towards developing next-generation inference GPUs, scaling production, and building an ecosystem. Sunrise, established in late 2024 as a spin-off from SenseTime's chip division, aims to deliver affordable, high-quality AI-focused GPU solutions.
