During the WAIC2026, Peng Xiaogang, Deputy Director of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission (SASAC), emphasized the need for China's state-owned enterprises (SOEs) to focus on cutting-edge technologies. These include foundational algorithms, physical AI, intelligent computing chips, and quantum communication. The initiative aims to enhance the "national model, national chip, national use" strategy, fostering a comprehensive software and hardware ecosystem. SASAC has launched a specialized "AI+" action plan, introducing supportive policies and conducting tiered talent training over the past three years. The plan encourages SOEs to develop over 1,200 industry scenarios and adapt to a wide range of domestic chips. Additionally, five large-scale computing clusters have been deployed to empower various sectors. Peng highlighted the importance of increasing investment, expanding intelligent computing infrastructure, and enhancing cross-domain computing capabilities to provide inclusive computing services.
