The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) of China announced plans to release guidelines for a comprehensive standardization system for humanoid robots and embodied intelligence. Vice Minister Zhang Yunming highlighted the initiative during a press conference, emphasizing the role of humanoid robots in advancing the large-scale computing intelligence industry. The MIIT aims to enhance product quality, network, and data security through rigorous testing and inspection, alongside conducting scientific and technological ethics research. Additionally, the MIIT will focus on accelerating the development of the humanoid robot ecosystem. This includes strengthening support from the National Artificial Intelligence Industry Investment Fund, establishing an open-source community, and promoting global sharing of innovative achievements. These efforts are part of China's broader strategy to drive technological innovation and ensure high-quality development in the sector by 2025.
