China Mobile Chairman Chen Zhongyue announced at the 2026 Mobile Network Conference on November 6 that computing power will represent the largest share of the company's capital expenditure in 2026. China Mobile broke ground on three new gigawatt-scale computing parks this year and expects to deliver 1.5 gigawatts of capacity, with two additional gigawatt-scale data parks planned for next year, bringing the total to seven.
Chen stated that China Mobile has already deployed multiple 10,000-card intelligent computing clusters, and its computing capacity is expected to double for two consecutive years. By 2027, the company plans to raise total procurement spending above 500 billion yuan, including more than 100 billion yuan dedicated to computing power investment. China Mobile currently operates six overseas data centers.
