China and Laos have initiated a cross-border digital payment project, with MYbank completing the first digital RMB transaction using a QR code at a merchant in Laos. This milestone, guided by the People's Bank of China, marks the first instance of the digital RMB being used abroad, enhancing payment options for Chinese residents overseas.
