ChatGPT Voice can now invoke GPT-5.6 Sol and GPT-6 Astra, with users able to select both the model and reasoning intensity. Pro users can choose the models, and voice mode will use the selected model when search or reasoning is needed.
The feature runs on GPT-Live and delegates search and reasoning tasks to frontier models. When voice calls the underlying text model to respond, usage counts toward that model’s message quota. OpenAI also raised GPT-Live-1 daily limits: Plus users now receive 3 hours, up from 1 hour; $100 Pro users receive 15 hours, up from 12; $200 Pro users remain unlimited; and Business Premium users receive 15 hours daily.
