Cboe Global Markets has filed a proposal to extend trading hours on its EDGX stock and options exchange. The plan, announced on March 17, aims to allow trading of all listed NMS stocks from 9:00 p.m. Eastern Time on Sunday through 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time on Friday, with a one-hour pause from 8:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday.
The move comes in response to growing demand for U.S. stock trading outside traditional hours. CBOE, which already offers 24-hour trading for its index futures, options, and global forex markets, plans to launch the extended hours in December. Oliver Sung, Head of CBOE’s North American Equities division, emphasized the significance of this step in enhancing market accessibility.
