Canton Network completed the first tokenized U.S. stock trades under the SEC's innovation exemption framework on November 4, according to a press release from Nasdaq-listed Canton Strategic Holdings (CNTN). The issuer-backed tokenized common stock traded on TSV LLC, a tokenized securities platform operating on the Canton Network.
The transactions involved existing shareholder Five North as seller and DRW Cumberland as buyer, with Flowdesk providing liquidity through a permissioned pool of the Tradecraft AMM protocol. Settlement occurred atomically on the Canton Network. Canton Strategic Holdings stated that holders of the tokenized stock retain the same rights as shareholders holding shares directly through Nasdaq.
Crypto journalist Eleanor Terrett reported that TSV LLC was the first trading venue to notify the SEC of its intention to operate under the innovation exemption framework introduced on September 17.
