CaixaBank has become the sixth Spanish bank to receive a license under the EU's MiCA framework to offer crypto asset services. This approval allows CaixaBank to provide custody, trading, order transmission, and transfer services for crypto assets. The move comes as traditional banks in Spain, including BBVA, Openbank, and Kutxabank, accelerate their entry into the crypto market ahead of the June 2026 deadline, after which only authorized institutions can legally operate in this sector.
