ByteDance will release ADrive, an independent enterprise smart cloud drive product, in September. Built by Volcano Engine, ADrive is positioned as an enterprise storage and AI collaboration platform for human-machine office workflows involving AI agents and employees. ADrive supports online preview and collaborative editing across multiple file formats, natural language and image-based search, document summarization, translation, multi-document Q&A, and other intelligent processing tools. It also includes permission grading, operation auditing, multi-replica backup, and annual or monthly subscription billing. Tencent Cloud began developing a new version of Tencent Cloud Drive in June, focused on AI asset backup and collaborative sharing. The moves signal a shift in cloud drive competition from storage capacity to AI-powered collaboration.
