Crypto exchange Bybit announced plans to introduce retail banking services, offering personal IBANs to users starting in February. The new service, "My Bank powered by Bybit," will enable users to access instant fiat transactions, multi-currency transfers, and crypto trading under their own name. Bybit CEO Ben Zhou highlighted that the service will initially support the US dollar and aims to simplify financial transactions for users. The initiative marks Bybit's expansion beyond crypto trading, following a significant $1.4 billion hack last year. Users will gain immediate access to their bank accounts upon completing KYC verification, allowing them to deposit fiat, pay bills, and receive salaries. Bybit is collaborating with banking partners like Qatar National Bank and DMZ Finance, and is reportedly working with Pave Bank in Georgia. The service will support up to 18 currencies, pending regulatory approvals.
