Bybit CEO Ben Zhou has revealed the reasons behind the company's decision not to renew its sponsorship of the Red Bull Formula 1 team. In an interview, Zhou stated that the commercial value of the F1 sponsorship has been declining annually, while the costs associated with activating sponsorship rights have been increasing. He highlighted that maintaining the execution team could exceed the sponsorship fee itself, making it difficult to achieve a financial break-even.
Zhou also pointed out that the repetitive nature of guest invitations led to relationship management challenges, as some individuals began to expect annual invitations. As a result, Bybit is now seeking branding opportunities that offer better value and return on investment.
