Stablecoin infrastructure firm BVNK has received an undisclosed investment from Citi Ventures, the venture capital arm of Citigroup. BVNK, known for its stablecoin payment rail facilitating fiat and crypto settlements, is experiencing rapid growth in the US market, partly due to the GENIUS Act, a US stablecoin regulatory bill. Co-founder Chris Harmse noted that the company's valuation now exceeds the $750 million reported in its previous funding round. Citi Ventures' investment comes as Citigroup explores issuing its own stablecoin and expanding into crypto custody. The stablecoin market has seen significant activity, with trading volumes nearing $9 trillion over the past year and a market capitalization surpassing $300 billion. BVNK is also supported by notable investors such as Coinbase and Tiger Global.
