Banco do Brasil has launched a new feature allowing Brazilian customers to use the Pix payment system in Argentina, marking the first international expansion of Brazil's rapid payments network. This service, developed in partnership with Banco Patagonia, enables Brazilian bank customers to make payments in Argentina by scanning a QR code with their bank app, which automatically handles currency exchange and fund transfers. The expansion aims to simplify transactions for Brazilians in Argentina and could be a precursor to further international rollouts. Banco do Brasil is considering extending this service to other countries with large Brazilian communities, including regions in Latin America, Europe, and Asia. Pix, praised for its efficiency and cost-effectiveness, is Brazil's most popular payment system, used by over 160 million individuals and 15 million businesses.
