Bloomberg announced on October 22 that it has expanded its Crypto Exposure Analytics capabilities to help institutions identify, classify, and report exposures to crypto assets and tokenized real-world assets in compliance with the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision framework. The tool analyzes funds, equities, bonds, and derivatives to detect direct and indirect crypto risks, supporting banks and asset managers in risk management and regulatory reporting.
Bloomberg identified approximately 1,700 funds potentially subject to the framework, with roughly half not explicitly listing crypto exposure in their investment strategies. The analytics are accessible via Bloomberg Data License and the Bloomberg Terminal. Morgan Stanley confirmed it is utilizing the tools for fund look-through analysis and exposure classification under the Basel standards.
