Blockworks is reportedly in the process of gradually closing its news division, according to former Blockworks journalist Sam Reynolds. The company, which secured $12 million in funding at a $135 million valuation in May 2023 from investors including 10T Holdings and Framework Ventures, has been expanding its business model. As part of its growth strategy, Blockworks introduced a data sales line to complement its existing services such as news, conferences, research, consulting, and podcasts. The company's annual revenue is projected to exceed $30 million, as reported by Fortune in April 2025.
