Blockstream has launched version 5.2.0 of its Blockstream Green app, enabling the Blockstream Jade hardware wallet to support Lightning Network payments. This update allows users to send and receive instant Bitcoin payments via the Lightning Network while securely storing their funds in cold storage. The integration also connects these payments with the Liquid Network, a Bitcoin sidechain, using atomic swaps to convert Lightning payments into Liquid Bitcoin (LBTC). This makes Blockstream Jade the first hardware wallet to facilitate such interactions, enhancing its utility for Bitcoin transactions.
