Bitwise Chief Investment Officer Matt Hougan has suggested that the traditional altcoin season, marked by widespread market rallies, may be coming to an end. Speaking to Cointelegraph, Hougan predicted a shift towards a more "atypical" altcoin cycle, where assets with real-world applications and tangible value will be favored. He emphasized that the previous pattern of broad market gains, where "a rising tide lifts all boats," is unlikely to recur. Hougan stated, "I don’t think we’ll see another rotation from Bitcoin to ETH to DeFi to NFT images."
