The Opentensor Foundation announced the launch of a quantum-resistant wallet for Bittensor, offering users post-quantum signature schemes and automatic key rotation capabilities. The new wallet supports three post-quantum algorithms: ML-DSA-65 (standardized by NIST), Falcon-512, and Falcon-1024.
The automatic key rotation feature switches to a new signing key after a transaction is recorded on-chain, rendering the old key unable to authorize further transactions while preserving the address, balance, and staked amounts unchanged. The quantum-resistant wallet will support both coldkeys and hotkeys, covering TAO transfers, staking, validator weight settings, multi-sig, and proxy accounts. Existing wallets remain functional, with users able to create new accounts through compatible wallet software to utilize post-quantum signatures.
