Blockchain analytics firm Bitquery identified a network of 365 TRON addresses responsible for draining at least $4.06 million in USDT through thefts linked to compromised iPhone accounts. The investigation revealed that attackers used TRX tokens to pay transaction fees while siphoning stablecoin funds from victims' wallets.
While Bitquery successfully matched one specific theft incident to an iPhone owner's account, the firm was unable to identify the devices or exploits responsible for the remaining breaches within the network.
