BitMask has officially launched the RGB protocol mainnet on its wallet, enabling Bitcoin to function as a programmable financial layer. The protocol supports RGB20 and RGB21 standards, offering scalability of up to 40 million transactions per second via the Lightning Network. This non-custodial system facilitates atomic swaps and self-validating transactions, enhancing security and privacy for developers and institutions.
Tether is preparing to issue its stablecoin, USDT, on the RGB protocol, which is expected to boost liquidity. Wrapped $tUSDT will be available through UTEXO's bridge, further integrating stablecoin functionality into the Bitcoin ecosystem. Additionally, the DIBA Marketplace is set to launch on the RGB mainnet by the end of 2025, expanding the protocol's utility.
