Bitget has launched Reality, a licensed financial protocol designed to tokenize real-world assets, specifically U.S. equities. The protocol's tokenized stocks, known as rTokens, are pegged 1:1 to underlying U.S. equities and are supported by a FINRA-registered, SIPC-protected U.S. securities broker. These tokens offer liquidity comparable to traditional brokers by connecting directly to U.S. equity liquidity pools such as Nasdaq and the NYSE. Users receive stock dividends in token form, with cash dividends converted to USDT, and stock splits and consolidations are updated in real-time on-chain. Reality's U.S. equity tokens are integrated into the Bitget ecosystem, allowing them to be used as margin for unified accounts and supporting various trading and lending products. Bitget CEO Gracy Chen highlighted the potential growth of tokenized equities, which currently make up only 0.1% of the $125 trillion global equity market, predicting this could rise to 10% by 2030. Initially focusing on U.S. equities, Reality plans to expand into other asset classes, enhancing Bitget's strategic position in global financial markets.
