Bitget has introduced Reality, a licensed financial protocol focused on the tokenization of real-world assets (RWA), specifically U.S. stocks. The protocol issues tokenized stocks, known as rTokens, which are pegged 1:1 to underlying U.S. equities. These assets are held by a FINRA-registered, SIPC-protected U.S. securities broker and are subject to real-time reserve audits by independent third parties. Reality connects directly to liquidity pools of major exchanges like Nasdaq and NYSE, ensuring liquidity comparable to traditional brokers. Dividends are distributed in token form, with cash dividends converted to USDT, and stock splits and mergers are reflected on-chain. The Reality protocol is deeply integrated into the Bitget ecosystem, supporting unified account margins and compatibility with grid trading, copy trading, and staking and lending products. Bitget CEO Gracy Chen has highlighted a vision where tokenized stocks, currently representing 0.1% of the $125 trillion global stock market, could grow to nearly 10% by 2030. Initially focusing on U.S. stocks, Reality plans to expand its asset offerings, aligning with Bitget's strategy to broaden access to global financial assets.
