Bitcoin reserves on known over-the-counter trading platforms have dropped to an all-time low of approximately 123,000 BTC, according to CryptoQuant analyst Darkfost. This represents a significant decline from nearly 500,000 BTC held in September 2021, marking the lowest level ever recorded for these addresses. The sustained decrease in OTC reserves is attributed to investors favoring long-term holding strategies, miners reducing sales through private channels, and sellers increasingly shifting activity to public markets. As available supply on OTC desks diminishes, buying demand may redirect toward spot exchanges, potentially creating upward price support as liquidity tightens in private markets.
