Bitcoin mining companies CleanSpark, BitFuFu, and Canaan experienced a decline in production in June compared to May, despite a more than 10% decrease in network mining difficulty. CleanSpark produced 614 bitcoins in June, down approximately 9% from 671 in May, with average operational hash rate dropping from 46 EH/s to about 43 EH/s. The company holds 13,924 bitcoins, ranking as the 11th largest publicly listed bitcoin holder.
BitFuFu's production fell from 177 bitcoins to 125, a decrease of about 29%, as total hash rate decreased from 19.5 EH/s to 15 EH/s due to reduced hosting capacity, although self-owned hash rate increased to 3.5 EH/s. The company also signed contracts for 7,300 new mining machines and 5.3 EH/s of contracted hash rate. Canaan's production similarly declined by about 29%, partly due to power grid maintenance at mining sites, but its bitcoin inventory rose to a record 1,915 bitcoins.
