The number of transactions in Bitcoin's memory pool has sharply declined, raising concerns about market activity. As of Saturday, only 5,000 transactions were pending, a stark contrast to the 150,000 transactions seen when Bitcoin first surpassed $100,000 at the end of 2024. Although the total number of transactions increased to 15,000 by press time, it remains significantly lower than previous levels. Joao Wedson, CEO of Alphractal, suggests that the reduced activity in the memory pool reflects a lack of retail participation, potentially signaling a market downturn. The current transaction volume is a fraction of what was observed during Bitcoin's peak, indicating possible shifts in market dynamics.
