Security firm Quarkslab has completed the first public third-party security audit of Bitcoin Core, funded by Brink and coordinated by OSTIF. The audit, which involved 100 person-days of work, focused on critical modules such as the P2P network, mempool, chain management, and consensus. The results revealed no high or medium-risk vulnerabilities, only identifying two low-risk issues and providing 13 improvement suggestions. This audit marks a significant milestone in Bitcoin Core's journey towards mature and secure governance.
