The acquisition, made at an average price of $2,334.25 per coin on May 11, reflects the company's strategic focus on diversifying its digital asset portfolio beyond Bitcoin. This move positions Bit Digital among the largest public holders of Ethereum. The purchase aligns with Bit Digital's broader capital allocation strategy, which includes investments in the Ethereum ecosystem, artificial intelligence infrastructure, and strategic acquisitions. CEO Sam Tabar emphasized Ethereum's role as foundational infrastructure for the digital economy, indicating the company's readiness to invest when market conditions are favorable. Additionally, Bit Digital secured a $100 million loan facility to expand its AI infrastructure business, WhiteFiber, highlighting its commitment to growth across multiple sectors.
