Bhutan has sold $6.7 million worth of Bitcoin, continuing a trend of weekly sales over the past three weeks, according to Arkham monitoring. The country initially planned to collaborate with Bitdeer Technologies to develop mining operations capable of providing up to 600MW of Bitcoin hash power. However, on-chain data indicates a slowdown in mining activity since the April 2024 Bitcoin halving.
In September, Bhutan sold at least $100 million in Bitcoin and continues to gradually liquidate its holdings. Despite these sales, identified wallets show that Bhutan still holds approximately $372 million in Bitcoin.
