Bhutan has signed a multi-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with crypto market maker Cumberland DRW to develop digital asset infrastructure in Gelephu Mindfulness City. This collaboration aims to advance Bhutan's 'green Bitcoin' strategy, focusing on sustainable development. Under the agreement, Cumberland will assist in managing Bhutan's national Bitcoin reserves and explore areas such as stablecoins, renewable energy mining, AI computing power, and a national-level crypto ecosystem. Bhutan aims to establish a long-term digital economy framework aligned with its environmental and governance values.
