Bhutan has introduced a gold-backed digital token, TER, as part of its national blockchain strategy. Issued by Gelephu Mindfulness City and backed by the Kingdom's sovereign framework, the token is built on the Solana blockchain. DK Bank, Bhutan's first licensed digital bank, manages the issuance and custody of TER.
The TER token aims to bridge traditional value stores with blockchain finance, offering international investors a tokenized version of gold. This initiative combines traditional asset purchase familiarity with the transparency and transferability of blockchain technology, allowing investors to purchase TER directly through DK Bank.
