Reported compromised information may include violation processing records and passwords. Berlin authorities have not confirmed the full scope of the breach and declined to comment on the ransom demand or the attacker’s identity for investigative reasons. Mayor Kai Wegner said Berlin will not yield to extortion. The main affected departments were transportation and construction management, which were temporarily isolated from the state government network after the incident.
