Berachain co-founder Smokey the Bera has dismissed reports suggesting that the project granted a refund right to Brevan Howard Digital’s Nova fund on its $25 million Series B investment. Smokey labeled the reports as 'inaccurate and incomplete,' clarifying that the clause was a compliance measure related to Nova’s liquid fund strategy rather than investor protection.
Documents indicate that the Nova fund has the option to recoup its investment up to a year after the token generation event on February 6, 2025. Despite the BERA token trading at approximately $1.02, below Nova’s $3 entry price, Smokey emphasized that Nova remains a significant tokenholder and liquidity provider. He also suggested that the report was influenced by 'disgruntled ex-team members.'
