Babylon has successfully upgraded its mainnet, implementing significant changes to its BABY token economics and introducing a BTC staking extension feature. The annual inflation rate for BABY tokens has been reduced from 8% to 5.5%, decreasing the annual issuance by approximately 250 million BABY tokens. Additionally, a new joint staking mechanism for BABY and BTC has been launched, offering higher rewards for users who stake both assets. The BTC staking extension feature allows users to prolong their existing lock-up periods without interrupting their earnings. The team plans to further enhance the utility and sustainability of BABY tokens through the Trustless Bitcoin Vault protocol.
