The Federal Court of Australia has barred Ryan Xu, a director of the defunct cryptocurrency exchange Blockchain Global, from leaving the country until December 20. This decision follows an investigation by the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) into Xu's involvement with the ACX Exchange, a platform operated by Blockchain Global that ceased operations in December 2019.
ASIC's probe, initiated in January 2024, was prompted by a report from the company's liquidators, revealing that Blockchain Global owed approximately 58 million AUD (37.3 million USD) to unsecured creditors as of October 2023. Ryan Xu is the third director from Blockchain Global to face travel restrictions, following similar measures against Allan Guo and Samuel Xue Lee.
