Aster CEO Leonard addressed concerns over the concentration of ASTER tokens, revealing that a significant portion of these tokens are airdrops or user deposits. In an interview, Leonard explained that while on-chain data shows a small number of addresses holding 96% of ASTER tokens, his team does not control these wallets. Approximately 80% of tokens are locked on-chain, with 40% held in airdrop addresses and others in platform deposit addresses.
Leonard emphasized that only about 10% of ASTER tokens are currently in circulation, including a 1:1 redemption share for users and initial airdrops. He also noted that YZi Labs, the sole private equity investor, holds a minor stake and has no plans to sell, underscoring their support for Aster. Despite the appearance of token concentration, many tokens are user-held, and Aster's performance in the BNB ecosystem reflects its value.
