Arthur Hayes said expected bond market support measures and continued money printing could drive Bitcoin to $250,000 over the next few years. Hayes said Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent’s recent support for the bond market may force the Federal Reserve to keep adding liquidity if markets continue to test policymakers.
Hayes said the outcome would likely avoid a 2008-style credit crisis but prolong monetary expansion, which he expects to benefit Bitcoin. He also pointed to the possibility of measures similar to those used by Yellen, including draining the Fed’s reverse repo facility and injecting $2.4 trillion in liquidity. Separate reports said Bessent has indicated the Treasury may use nearly $1 trillion from the Treasury General Account to fund bond purchases.
