ARK Invest has released a report forecasting that Bitcoin's market capitalization could grow from its current nearly $2 trillion to $16 trillion by 2030, with an annual compound growth rate of approximately 63% over the next five years. The report also projects that the overall market size for smart contract networks and on-chain digital currencies could reach $28 trillion by 2030, with Bitcoin potentially accounting for about 70% of this market. The remaining market share is expected to be primarily composed of networks like Ethereum and Solana. ARK suggests that the growth of Bitcoin and the crypto market will benefit from partially absorbing the market value of gold and the tokenization of assets such as stocks, bonds, real estate, and currencies. However, widespread adoption will depend on regulatory clarity and the maturity of institutional-grade infrastructure.
