Arizona is moving forward with legislation to exempt cryptocurrencies from property taxes. The state's Senate Finance Committee approved bills S.B.1044 and S.C.R.1003 with a 4-3 vote, sending them to the Senate Rules Committee for further consideration. S.C.R.1003 proposes a constitutional amendment to exclude "virtual currency" from property tax, which will be put to voters in November. S.B.1044 aims to amend state law to define and exempt crypto assets from property tax. The legislation was introduced by Senator Wendy Rogers. Previously, Governor Katie Hobbs vetoed several crypto-related bills in 2025.
