Argentina has imposed a nationwide block on the crypto-based prediction market platform Polymarket. A Buenos Aires court ordered the telecom regulator ENACOM to restrict access through internet providers and instructed Google and Apple to remove the app from their stores for Argentine users. This decision follows authorities' conclusion that Polymarket operates as an unlicensed online gambling service, prompted by a complaint from the Buenos Aires City Lottery (LOTBA). Argentina is now the second Latin American country, after Colombia, to fully restrict Polymarket.
