ArbitrumDAO has concluded its election for six new members of its 12-person Security Council, with voting taking place from April 12 to May 3. Michael Lewellen led the election with 25.19 million weighted votes, followed by DZack23 and Yoav.eth. The council, responsible for emergency protocol actions, sees half of its seats rotate every six months under Arbitrum's security framework. The election results have positively impacted the price of Arbitrum (ARB), which rose nearly 5% to $0.1193. The new council members will assume their roles after a grace period ending on May 21, inheriting ongoing issues such as the frozen 30,766 ETH tied to the KelpDAO exploit. This situation, along with other treasury decisions, will be among the first challenges for the newly elected members.
