AQUA has launched open testing for Indra, its in-house Lightning-Liquid swap infrastructure, after third-party provider Boltz shut down on August 3 following sustained attacks. Indra is designed specifically for AQUA as a Liquid–Lightning swap system and replicates Boltz API signatures to serve as a plug-and-play replacement. The system currently prioritizes support for paying Lightning invoices with L-BTC, with reverse swap receiving functionality planned for a later rollout. The team also plans to integrate multiple Lightning swap providers, including Blockstream Swaps, to improve redundancy and reliability while allowing users to access Lightning in AQUA on a non-custodial basis without running nodes or managing channels.
