Apple will introduce a new “Readiness” app at its “Surprise and Shine” event on Wednesday, designed to assess users’ physical recovery and readiness for daily activity. The app will operate as a variant of the existing watchOS 11 “Vitals” app, using data including average heart rate, respiratory rate, blood oxygen, wrist temperature and previous-night sleep duration to generate a composite metric similar to Oura’s “Readiness Score.” Apple also plans to unveil the Apple Watch Series 12 and Apple Watch Ultra 4 with continuous heart rate monitoring at the same event.
